Helsinki 1800-2030

The development of Helsinki building by building. The video tries to show each building that existed within the area during the time span. This includes past, current and future buildings.

The basis for the visualization is the building register of Helsinki. However, thousands of demolished buildings have been added by digitizing old maps, aerial imagery and building permit applications. The future buildings are based on detailed plans and visualizations produced for detailed planning processes.
