Language choices in basic education schools of the City of Helsinki

The dataset includes the language choices of pupils in comprehensive schools maintained by the City of Helsinki (A1, A2, B1 and B2 languages) by school on 20 September according to the statistics from 2012 onwards. Finnish- and Swedish-language schools are presented separately, as are grades 1–6 (primary school) and 7–9 (secondary school).

The dataset also includes pupils in preparatory education for immigrants, special needs education and hospital education. However, the number of pupils in special schools is presented only as a whole (not by school).

The abbreviations of the languages can be found on Statistics Finland’s website.
