What do you hope to see from open data in the future?

What kind of open data do you need now or in the future? What improvements would you like to see in either open data or data portals in Finland? And what factors would make it easier to use open data?

To better meet the needs and wishes of open data users, we are now conducting a survey to determine what kind of open data is needed and what kind of support open data users hope to receive. The survey is being conducted in collaboration with Finland’s six largest cities, and its results will be used to develop open data services in Finland.

The survey is open until April 30, 2026. It takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. The survey results will be published at HRI’s 15th-anniversary seminar on September 2, 2026. In addition, a summary of the survey will be published on the hri.fi website, and anonymized responses will be published as open data.

Respondents will be entered into a drawing for umbrellas and canvas bags. To conduct the drawing, respondents will be asked to provide their email address on a separate form, and this information will not be linked to their survey responses. You can also answer the survey without participating in the drawing.

Thank you in advance for your response!
