Infopankki is a multi-language website providing vital information to people planning to move to Finland and to immigrants already living in the country.

The text contents of the Infopankki.fi website have been opened for everyone to use through an open application programming interface (API). The website contains important information for immigrants about permit matters, working life and entrepreneurship, studying Finnish, housing and living in Finland. All of the 12 identical language versions of the service are available through the API. Infopankki contains approximately 3,500 web pages.

“We hope that Infopankki materials will be used to create applications that serve the information needs of immigrants in different languages. For example, a Chinese application developer could create an application that gives its users easy access to the information they need about Finland,” says Editor-in-Chief Eija Kyllönen-Saarnio from the City of Helsinki. Through the open interface, Infopankki information can also be displayed in other services.

Infopankki is collecting user requests about the use of multilingual materials at https://padlet.com/infopankki/api.

The languages of the service are Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, Estonian, French, Somali, Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Persian and Arabic. The language versions are identical in content.

The Infopankki website is published by the City of Helsinki and funded by the Finnish state and municipalities. The information is updated constantly in co-operation with the authorities.
