HRI launches a new version of website

Visualization of largest data categories in HRI. Population and map data data are the largest categories, and maps are most often used in applications.
The new HRI.fi site offers analyses on how the number of datasets has developed and which data have been used most often in making applications.

The Helsinki Region Infoshare website (HRI.fi) has gone through a major overhaul, updating the site to comply with the common data portal format built jointly by the six largest Finnish cities within the 6Aika development programme. The cities have harmonized their open data portals and metadata models, and future development will be undertaken together in a more cost-effective way.

The updated site follows the same basic logic as the old HRI website. New features include an interesting view on site analytics data, the possibility to create previews of individual datasets and the ability to read file-based data and metadata also through an interface (API).

This is a genuinely responsive website, optimizing the usability on mobile devices. The new site also makes the open data content easier to use for English and Swedish speakers.

We have done our best to test the features of the site but it is still possible that a bug or two have slipped in. If you notice any inconsistencies or malfunctioning features on the site, we would be grateful if you could report them either by commenting on this article or sending an e-mail to hri(at)hel.fi.
