Historically meaningful staircases in Helsinki

An inventory produced by the Helsinki City Museum of the culturally and historically most important staircases in Helsinki.

The dataset includes, for example, basic building information, building designer data, verbal descriptions of the status, structures and fixtures of the staircases and information about how well the staircases have been preserved. The detailed description of the data can be found in the Word file in connection with the dataset.

The location information of buildings includes both their addresses and coordinates. The coordinate system of the dataset is ETRS-GK25.

The inventory of staircases includes staircases in inner-city residential buildings from the 1800s, staircases from the 1900s and 1910s in Punavuori and Kamppi and staircases from the 1920s and 1930s in Töölö. The inventories were made between 2009 and 2011. The most valuable staircases in terms of cultural history and architecture are included.
