Helsinki City Museum has made more than 48,000 of its materials available under open licence through the Finna service, which contains material-specific descriptions.

In Finna, you can find, for example, all 906 photographs by Signe Brander from the Helsinki of a hundred years ago and plenty of other material about the life of the city residents of the past. The treasures of the collection range from plastic bags to hairdryers and from tickets to works of art. The material also includes information about the history of the buildings in Helsinki.

All Helsinki City Museum photos in Finna can be downloaded and used freely, but the name of the photographer and Helsinki City Museum must be mentioned. High-resolution images are available through the helsinkiphotos.fi service.

Materials are constantly added, and the service continues to be developed.
