The Espoo base map, which is the same data that is also used in the up-to-date 3D city model, shows all the important elements of design and construction, such as buildings, transport routes, terrain patterns, watercourses and elevation data.

A base map is a basic geographic dataset that serves as a base map for a town plan. It is also used to produce special maps.

The base map is maintained on an ongoing basis. New buildings, changes in the property division and streets intended for vehicle traffic are updated quickly. Other items are updated in connection with the supplementary surveys. Every year, about 3,000 hectares of the city are mapped with aerial photographs and stereo mapped.

The base map data is available in vector format for the entire city area.

The publication of open data does not contain property information, but it presents the boundary geometry of the properties.
